The Collective Journey HOME

“I’m going to look twice at you
Until I see The Christ in you
When I’m looking through the eyes of Love..”
Mike Scott - Universal Hall

This is a beautiful mantra for the expression of Christ Consciousness
if only every Soul could look at another with such Unconditional Love...

This truly is an amazing time to be alive on the planet. Not in the last two thousand years of our history have we been more ready to ‘Create Heaven on Earth’ than we are during the course of these next few years..

An Overview of Psycho-Spirituality and Cultural Changes 1939 - 2012

The 1960’s - A Spiritual Awakening - A Cultural Revolution

A world cultural revolution was catalysed during the swinging sixties, the effect of which is still felt to this day. The 60’s propelled humanity into a profound healing crisis - a Spiritual Awakening - The Western mind found itself going in one of three directions as it confronted the split which occurred during that decade between the ‘old establishment’ and The New World Order. The people of the sixties society polarised between the old and the new and then there were those who slipped into the void, confused, lost and caught up in the whirlwind of change that was to prove to transform the world as we knew it, forever. Those who fell into the void were the victims of those powerful waves of change, often leaving their bodies via drug overdoses, the outcome of hedonistic over indulgence or through other circumstances that pointed to being caught up in the whirlwind of cultural revolution. The ‘old’ order dug in their heels, rolled up their sleeves and stubbornly tried to hold onto outworn and outdated policy, lifestyle and tradition. The new wavers embraced change, pushed the boundaries and fearlessly fought for the revolution that their souls’ had come to catalyse. And whilst many did call this a revolution others would come to refer to it as an‘ ascension’ process.

For centuries western societies had been residing for the most part in the lower three chakras. The 60’s revolution set us on what would ultimately end up as a fifty year journey of integration and alignment. This process called for an accentuation on the upper four chakras in the initial stages. Ideally, we needed to integrate the lower and upper chakras (with the heart (LOVE) being the meeting place), however, first we had to more fully experience the upper four (having fully expressed the lower three chakras) before uniting and aligning all seven. Thus, the sixties pointed millions toward love, meaningful vocal expression, the esoteric and visionary and the spiritual. This process we began to experience in ourselves, peaking during the late 60’s and early 70’s and it was in the arena of creativity (throat) and spirituality (crown) that was to lead the way for those of us engaged with this process. We were learning to give precedence to right brain impulses and release the dominance of left brain led society, family systems and experience of self. The masters who were the inspiration and role modelled much for us in this campaign for reform were various musical genius’s both in mainstream and counter culture. At the same time, spiritual East had come to meet material West and a litany of spiritual gurus and teachers were mentoring the artists who in turn, through their creative offerings and much written about lifestyles choices were profoundly influencing the culture.

The 60’s feels like it was a time of survival and revolutionary risks - with its people literally swinging between the old and the new. Those revolutionists who did manage to emerge in one piece, were changed forever. Enough people did choose to fight the establishment and change the status quo and as a result the 60’s secured its place in history as a catalyst and fulfilled its destiny. This new energy was on the move and would gather momentum all the way to 2012.

It is true to say that music changed a generation and reformed society in terms of the ripple effect its profound influence sent out. The ‘drab’ of post war society began to shape shift into a kaleidoscope of colour. We have spent the past 40 years consciously and unconsciously working toward healing the split between ‘old establishment’ and ‘new world’; as well as tackling many issues including recognising duality and creating more of a sense of Oneness and personal and planetary awareness. This is a process that we have had to experience firstly within ourselves - healing the split within our own psyches and our own inner world as only then can we create harmony with all the kingdoms of our planetary home.

The 1970’s - A Psychological Rebirth - A Second Wave Cultural Revolution

Having undergone the initiation of the 60’s and come out the other side, we arrived into the 70’s with a myriad of questions that revolved around our experiences of ourselves. Rather than focusing our attention on emulating the people we had catapulted to an almost God like status and spending time wondering about who they are, how they live their lives, what they think and listening to their political and spiritual outpourings, we began to wonder about ourselves and how we felt about our lives, our world. Synchronistically, it was during this time period that ‘therapy’ started to re-emerge from its dusty and antiquated, late nineteenth century origins. Unconventional therapy systems erupted, such as Humaniversity and Janov’s Primal Scream therapy, which were unorthodox and untested and potentially dangerous. This time also heralded the arrival of some truly grounded and transformative therapies, including the impressive and extremely effective Transpersonal and Humanistic psychotherapies, namely Psycho-Synthesis, Core Process and Gestalt. Body oriented therapies, for example; Bioenergetics, also began to find a place in the therapy revolution, as did meditation. Each approach, though different, contained the potential to bring about deep healing and Self-awareness. The revolution of the 60’s, dominated astrologically by the powerful Pluto/Uranus conjunction, afforded a breakdown, shake-up and transformative effect on society, as we then knew it.

A mainstream cultural and spiritual awakening had commenced, starting in the 60’s with a music revolution which became an art and design revolution and evolved into a spiritual/conscious and cultural revolution. An influx of Eastern Spiritual Philosophies/Gurus and Teachers flooded Western culture. Once all this had anchored into the Western mind and seeded, there followed a sustained period of growth - preparing humankind for the higher vibrational, new era of consciousness of 2012 and beyond destined to unfold - The Ascension Process.

As we flowed into the 70’s ‘therapy’ became the gateway through which to further support and nourish that seed of consciousness growing within those who had answered the Pluto/Uranus call of the 60’s. Other seeds were also growing - those within the wombs of many of the awakening ones.

1939/1945 -2012 - War/Post War Babies - Sacred Texts

The first major wave of Light Workers incarnated globally from the onset of the second world war and post war, bringing a revolutionary influence that would catalyse what was destined to become known as the peace loving 60”s and early 70’s. These evolved souls incarnated during and immediately after a war, with a peace mission. The future children of these ‘war’ and ‘post’ war souls’ were to be the ‘light workers’ coming through these first wave beings, millions more would folllow incarnating over the following seven decades with a specific mission - to help raise the planetary vibration to the required frequency to ensure the opening of the 2012 interstellar gateway to bring about a Consciousness Revolution, for the whole of humanity.

During man/womankind's history, many great souls’ have incarnated at specific times, for example; Zoroaster - 6th century BCE (Before Christian Era) - the great Persian prophet and reformer and Pythagoras, the brilliant Greek philosopher and mathematician who lived from about 580 to 500 BCE, who’s systems of thought influenced Plato and Aristotle. The incarnation of Great Masters such as these were fewer by comparison to the mass wave of Light workers birthing from 1939 - 1945 and onwards. The Light workers had a global mission with an emphasis on reuniting in specific groups (formed by the gravitational pull of the cordant vibration); as well as influencing mass consciousness by living among the people, by being the people, as did The Christ.

2000 years on, humankind find itself poised on the brink of a world-wide paradigm shift. We are living in the most extraordinary times. Not since the great masters and sages walked amongst us in ancient times, has there been such a promise of personal and planetary redemption, ascension and a return to the Light, whilst still living in the body. Yeshua/Jeshua (the Essene name for Jesus - who was believed to be closely linked with the Essenes and who’s family and friends were said to be Essenes) had a core mission - to remind us of who we are and to mirror to us that all He represented lives within each one of our hearts and that we are all a spark of the same Divine source that Jesus originates from. Yeshua came to mirror to humanity what our Divine nature is like - a part of ourselves that we have forgotten over time. Many speak of a second coming - that second coming is the awakening of Christ consciousness within our hearts - The Christ Within - that we may become the living embodiment of such and walk amongst each other with the same unconditional love, total empathy, forgiveness, great strength and great gentleness that He did. Jesus came to remind us of the four cornerstones of Sacred living;- Harmony. Truth. Unconditional Love and Peace.

It was also in 1945 that Gnostic texts were discovered near the town of Nag (or Naj) Hammadi in Upper Egypt. These 13 codices are 4th century copies of 2nd or 3rd century scriptures and commentaries known as the Nag Hammadi Library. From 1947 onwards, about 500 mainly Hebrew and Aramaic scrolls (or scroll fragments) known as the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in the caves of Qumran (the biggest Essene community located close the the Dead Sea and Jerusalem) and in other locations near the Dead Sea. It is not a coincidence that such discoveries were made during the two years after peace was declared following world war two.

Chiron ~ The Wounded Healer

In November 1977, a small planetoid was discovered orbiting between Saturn and Uranus - this being the planet Chiron.. The human psyche had opened and evolved enough for the arrival of this phenomenal healing powerhouse to offer its intensely challenging opportunities for healing through feeling - that is feeling into our own emotional wounding and learning the teaching that each wound carries. Chiron bought with it the promise of the healing of 100’s of past lives with its arrival in our consciousness, at this time in our evolution - we all had the potential to become healers and Chiron would pave the way for us to become just such.

Saturn/Neptune ~ Spirit in Form

From June of 1971 through to April 1972, Saturn was in opposition to Neptune - this astronomical event occurs only once in every thirty six years ((and has just done so again in February ‘07) and brings with it opportunities for new creative and spiritual foundations to be laid and built upon. The creative and spiritual Neptune will challenge anywhere where such has become rigid and restricted and frozen (shadow aspect of Saturn) and the rock solid and boundary loving Saturn will emphasise where there is a need for the directionless expression of creativity and spirituality - ‘the out of it man’ syndrome (shadow Neptune) - to be contained and channeled affectively through the medium of form. Whereas Neptune can have its head, quite literally, in the clouds, Saturn can have it’s feet too stuck in the mud, making it immovable. So the meeting of these two present an opportunity for the world to re-evaluate where it has become rigid, dogmatic and immovable (shadown Saturn) as well as where it is caught in self -deception, addictive behaviour or ungrounded (shadow Neptune). Whilst Saturn can stubbornly lock itself in the basement, Neptune can confine itself to the attic in self contained delusion. This rare conjunction offers the opportunity for the two to meet on the ground floor where the unconditional love quality of Neptune can meet with protective Saturn who can then build a worthy container, so that Neptune can creatively and spiritually pour forth into this chalice that is the form that Saturn can offer. In world terms such a conjunction affords us the opportunity to manifest something of a more altruistic, non-material nature into a societal and political structure that can not only contain it but will give that offering a form from which it may best be expressed in the material world.

When this is possible then we can create the perfect expression of Spirit in form. This is quite a challenge as Neptune is boundariless, free flowing and fluid whereas Saturn is the master of boundaries, structure and form. Hence, it often brings a feeling of contradiction and polarising as the world attempts to strike a balance between the free spirited Neptune and the form loving Saturn. There is a sense of destiny when these two planetary heavyweights encounter each other - as Neptune represents much to do with Soul and Spirit with Saturn being the lord of Karma. It was around the time of the Saturn/Neptune opposition of 1971, that a second wave music and art revolution began to evolve in New York’s underground scene, in the early 70’s.

In 1977 (under the influence of Chiron) this ‘new wave’ sound exploded onto the scene transforming the future of music and influencing artistic expression across the world. Chiron was encouraging the expression of feelings - in order to heal, first we must feel, and that is exactly what these sub-cultures known as Hip Hop/Rap, Disco and Punk were doing - these very different music styles were all emerging from sub culture into mainstream culture at exactly the same time. Through these unique and groundbreaking sounds, feelings of anger, pain, grief, joy, rapture and love found expression and each listener was invited to express the same through uniting with the respective sound, lyric and movement. And unlike the late 50’s early 60’s ‘teddy boy’ and ‘mod’ clashes - these vastly diverse creative expressions displayed a quiet respect for each other and all managed to swim in the same ocean without too may waves.

The originators of this new music language and artistic expression were pure masters of art and most certainly a group of highly evolved Souls who chose to incarnate together to change the face of music, art, movement and culture, post 60’s. These gifted souls’ were to create a bridge that would reach back into the past and stretch into a distant future linking what at that time was the past, present and future of cultural influence.

Post 70’s generations continue to align with the same creative vibration that these 70’s spiritual artists and world healers established. These three very distinct and independently unique sounds; hip hop/rap, disco and punk, born in the wake of the 70’s Saturn/Neptune opposition, have completed the task that was the purpose for their creation - one only has to listen to today's’ music to hear that the spirited and creative impulses of Neptune have perfectly united with the form and structure preferences of Saturn. Each unique genre of today's’ sounds incorporate and integrate influences from the others. It is because this phenomenon erupted onto the world stage in the very year that Chiron arrived, that we know that these musical and artistic pioneers were and are spiritual warriors with a mission to assist in the healing of cultural divides and world separation.

It was also during the 1970’s, that transcendental music emerged into mainstream culture. This had evolved from the Eastern philosophies and spiritual practices that had met with the West in the late 60’s. We really were experiencing the healing power of music. No longer were we listening to the toe tapping tunes and catchy lyrics of the pre-60’s, but instead we were embracing the empowering and healing qualities of transcendent, political and art in music form.

Chiron is often an unknown influence in mainstream astrology but deserves its place up there with the Grand Masters planets, Pluto and Uranus. Saturn and Neptune. These five planets have been beacons of light upon human consciousness and development, particularly during the sixties and seventies and each deserve a special place in the heart of post modern man/woman/world kind.

1980’s - From fringe to mainstream - The Rise of Therapy

Therapy really came into its own during the 80’s and was now regarded as a professional, respected and effective tool for liberation. The 1980’s marked the decade where this gateway was pushed wide open. During this ten years, a plethora of body-healing therapies began to emerge with the emphasis on diet, nutrition and energy medicine/healing - The alternative health trend had become firmly established in Western culture and the Western psyche. Popular magazines began to write about ‘therapy’ and ‘alternative health’ and having a ‘therapist’ was very much ‘in vogue’. Health shops began to open up in town centres, as well as ‘new age’ shops selling all things esoteric, offering psychic and astrology readings and other healing services. Workshops began to explode onto the scene and psychological and healing professions became sought after by the healed and converted. It was during this decade that other therapies, such as; Past Life Therapy, Hypnosis, Reiki, Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, Bowen Therapy, Cranial Sacral Therapy, Massage, etc , rose to the call of alternative healing.

The 1990’s - Power of Mind - Creating Reality Consciousness - Metaphysics

As the boundaries of the body/mind and psychological life styles were pushed further and further, a new healing tool came to the forefront. The 90’s were dominated by a new style of ‘teachers’ who emphasised the power of our thoughts and the effect such has on our lives. Those on the path of Self-awareness sought out a myriad of ways to master their thoughts. Ten thousand people plus would cram into stadiums in cities across the world to listen to the giants of that decade teach them how to change their lives merely by thought process. The 1990’s also paved the way for the arrival of Metaphysical Sciences -(the study of which was spear headed by Leon Masters who launched the world’s first Metaphysical University in California way back in 1957). Even though Metaphysics lay on the back burner whilst mainstream culture preoccupied itself with all the other tools for Self empowerment and healing - it nevertheless maintained a presence whilst waiting in the wings for its grand entry to come between 2000 -2012.

The collective ‘split’ between the lower three and upper four chakras was well on the way to being healed - Now, the emphasis turned to the alignment needed between the personal ‘Will’ and the Spiritual ‘Will’. It was during the 1990’s that the term ‘Light-workers’ (although not new) became a familiar term to describe those working for the ‘Light’ and the planetary vibration.

The Power of One Voice

In August 1994 Sandy Stevenson organised Earth Alignment Day whereby one million people participated in 58 countries, meditating and chanting The Sacred OM for 8 minutes. (Harmonic Convergence was initiated in 1987 by Jose Arguelles - see wikipedia and other sites for background.) Events like this were taking place all over the planet. People were again realising the power of One Voice and how such could alter the planetary vibration, as well as bring about global healing. At this time, many claimed to be ‘channelling’ Ascended Masters, however, only a handful were authentic in doing so (although most were authentic in believing that was what they were doing). Due to the commitment by many to the path of the Soul, much had been done to allow for The Plan to unfold and flow accordingly as it has continued to do so since the 1960’s.
